Our Story

Clayhood began in 2019 with a simple idea — that the objects we live with every day should carry a story, a human touch, and a little bit of imperfection that makes them beautiful.

We work directly with over 120 artisan families across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and the North-East, spanning crafts like terracotta pottery, blue pottery, dhokra metal casting, macrame weaving, wood carving and hand block printing. Every purchase on Clayhood goes back into fair wages and long-term partnerships with these craft clusters — many of which are the last generation practicing techniques passed down for centuries.

What makes each piece special

Because everything is handmade, no two pieces are ever perfectly identical — a slight variation in glaze, grain or knot is not a flaw, it's proof of the human hand behind it. We photograph and describe every product as accurately as possible, but we ask you to embrace the character that comes with handcrafted goods.
